Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 July 2026
Tindral ("we", "us", "our") operates the Tindral website and application. This policy explains how we handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using Tindral you agree to this policy.
1. What we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, business name, and password (stored hashed), plus role and contact details for team members you invite.
- Business data you enter: information you add to run your business, including your customers and their contact details, property details, jobs, chemical and treatment records, quotes, invoices, payments, photos, and signatures. Some of this is personal information about your own customers, for which you are responsible as described in section 8.
- Voice-to-report transcripts: if you use the voice-to-report feature, your browser converts your speech to text on your device using its built-in speech recognition. We do not receive or store the audio. Only the resulting text transcript is sent to us and processed to produce a draft report. Note that your browser's speech recognition may itself send audio to your browser or device provider, which is outside our control.
- Communications: messages you send us, including feedback, bug reports, and email you send through the site, and your email address if you subscribe to updates.
- Technical and usage data: device and browser information, IP address, pages visited, and log and error data used to keep the service secure and working.
2. How we use it
We use personal information to: provide and operate Tindral; create your account and authenticate you; generate documents such as reports, certificates, and invoices from your data; respond to your enquiries and support requests; send you service and, where you have opted in, early-access update emails; monitor, secure, debug, and improve the service; and meet our legal obligations.
3. Disclosure to service providers
We use trusted third parties to run Tindral, and we disclose personal information to them only as needed to provide the service. These include:
- Vercel and Railway for website and application hosting.
- Neon for database hosting.
- Cloudflare R2 for file and photo storage.
- SMTP2GO for sending email.
- EmailOctopus for managing the early-access update list (only if you subscribe).
- Google Maps Platform for address lookup.
- Sentry for error monitoring.
- Anthropic for processing the voice-to-report text transcript into a structured draft (only when you use that feature).
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand (for example Anthropic, Vercel, EmailOctopus, SMTP2GO, Sentry, and Cloudflare). Where we disclose personal information overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
5. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls, and tenant separation. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, accounting, and compliance obligations. You can ask us to delete your account data, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it by law.
7. Access and correction
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by contacting us at privacy@tindral.com. We will respond within a reasonable time. If we decline a request we will tell you why.
8. Data about your customers
When you enter information about your own customers, you are responsible for having the right to do so and for handling that information in line with your own privacy obligations. We process it on your behalf to provide the service.
9. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to operate the site. If we use analytics, we will do so in a privacy-conscious way. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
10. Direct marketing
If you subscribe to updates we will only email you about Tindral, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above.
12. Contact and complaints
For any privacy question or complaint, contact us at privacy@tindral.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
